Minimal Spaces in Finisterre

This is a project of a house of a painter, located in the Cape Finisterre, near characteristic lighthouse. The municipality of Finisterre is situated in the region of Galicia, in the North West of Spain

The house has a limited 5x5 metre floor space and a 5 metre height space. The two storeys are completely independent.
On the first floor we can find his workplace, while his home is in the basement. Both storeys are connected by an external staircase.

The main target of this project is having all functions of a house in a limited space. This is the reason why all rooms are open and connected.

Given the house's location, the project had to be adapted to the conditions of the land, in slope. Furthermore, the first floor is accesible at level 0, and half of the basement is buried.

To make the most of the light and the magnificent views, both floors are open with a picture window.

The ceiling of half of the basement is used as a balcony for the first floor.

A House in Borneo (Amsterdam)

This is the project of a house located the area of Borneo, a suburb of the city of Amsterdam (Netherlands). I designed a holiday house for a Dutch family consisting of a couple and their four daughters. Given the house's location, I wanted to make the most of the light and the empty spaces.

This 6x18 meters house offers independ spaces for both the four daughters of the client and their parents. The project, called 'Casa H' is located between canal and the street.

The interior design of this project satisfies the client needs, as she wanted to separate the service spaces with the family spaces in it. This is clearly shown in the fact that the kitchen is located on the first floor while the living room is on the second storey.

All of the floor openings are designed to focus the light in the communal courtyard. The courtyard is habitable in its first floor.
